Amber about Kristin: “Kristin Dittrich from Germany works as an esteemed mentor and art critic with an in-depth academic and practical background on the art world of contemporary photography. Kristin, founder of the photo festival F/STOP in Leipzig and the SHIFT School of Photography Dresden / Vienna, has an impressive background in the European and international photography scene. Her work explores themes of biography, memory, ethics and philosophy - areas that have also piqued my interest over the years.”

Amber and Kristin are committed to educating photographers and helping them develop their creative and professional potential. Both have led photography workshops in the US and Europe and have been guest lecturers at various institutions. They have also judged a number of international photography competitions. Amber is a member of the Advisory Board of CENTER, a non-profit organization that honors, supports and provides opportunities for talented and dedicated photographers. Kristin is a member of the German Photo Council, which advises the German government on issues related to the acquisition of photographs.

Kristin on Amber: “We provide each other with information between the photography scene in the US and Europe and share ideas. We communicate and place facts, context and solutions to our community, connecting people with people in the industry where we can and making this transatlantic collaboration both fun and rewarding.”

For the first time, Amber and Kristin will present a series of talks on the photography scenes in New York and Europe, introducing themselves and their vision of the contemporary photography art scene. In November, we offer a guided Paris trip for you about collecting photography and an analysis visit with experts at the Paris Photo Art Fair in Paris. Please make a note of the date: 7-10.11.24. More information will follow in our next newsletter.

The lecture dates are September 22 and 29 and October 6. If you are interested, please register here by September 13 at 8 pm:
